CORPUS CHRISTI GUN CLUB
October 4, 2022
Dear Members:
This year our Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in front of the main clubhouse. In addition to electing directors for the board, we will review the past year’s progress and proposed plans for future growth. If there is any topic you would like to discuss, please contact me by 5:00 p.m. Monday, 10/31/22 so that it can be added to the agenda. Only items on the agenda will be open for discussion.
The following members are running for three open positions on the board:
Harold Carter Kevin Keetch Roger Strickland (incumbent)
Robert Galbreath (incumbent) Mark Otto (incumbent) Phil Underwood
Glenn Hagler Lee Rogers
You must be present to vote, and we cannot take any ballots until all candidates have spoken.
We have had some continued challenges at the club because of the scarcity of ammunition and reloading supplies, gate malfunctions and an electrical issue in the clubhouse, but the staff and your Board of Directors have handled all issues. We now have a much better inventory of ammo and reloading supplies than we have had in 2 years. We are pleased to let you know that your club continues to do well and remains fiscally sound. Membership is roughly equal to the previous few years, and more members are coming out to enjoy the club. Our Thursday night shooting attendance has still not bounced back but is improving and we encourage everyone to come out and shoot under the lights for a different and fun experience. We have made significant improvements on the 5-Stand field with the help of our amazing local 4H club and private donations. Country doubles has been reestablished and available for those who remember that crazy and fun game and for anyone interested in learning it. I will still try to send out a newsletter every few months telling you about these changes. If you are not receiving this email and would like to, add CCGC to your contact list and/or contact Craig or Theresa to make sure they have your correct email address.
This letter also serves as reminder that your annual membership fee is due by January 1, 2023. This will be the only notice you will receive. Enclosed you will find your renewal agreement, waiver and a return envelope. Note that there is one page with the renewal notice on one side, the waiver on the back and you must complete both forms. After completing, sign and return the forms with your dues. Your 2023 membership will not be active until all are received by mail, electronically or in the clubhouse. The fee for 2023 will be $194. Copies of the renewal form and waiver will also be available at the annual meeting and are on our website.
There are exciting things happening and in the works for your club. Please make plans to come to the Annual Meeting to hear about them and be a part of the excitement!
See you at the club!

Message from the Secretary 09/15/22
Hello members!
It has been a great year at your club. As ammunition has become more readily available, we are seeing larger numbers of shooters come out to enjoy our amazing facility. If you haven’t been out in a while, make it a point to come see what’s happening. And please add to your calendar to be at the club on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. for the Annual Meeting. An update on the year’s events and progress will be given, any member can be put on the agenda to voice concerns or comments that they might have, and we will be voting for directors for the board. Each year three of the nine positions on the board come open and we vote to fill these positions. If you would like to run for the board, we encourage you to fill out an eligibility form and turn it in by Sunday, September 25, 2022. You can get the forms in the clubhouse or if you email me, I can send one to you. You may turn the form in at the clubhouse or email it back to me. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about serving on the board. Next month you will receive the annual mailout reminding you about the meeting and it will include the names of all of those running. It will also include a reminder about the annual dues and contain a renewal form and return envelope.
Around the club: the 5-Stand area has been improved and the Country Doubles machines were reinstalled. We have a great new canopy over the area providing much needed shade. We are continuing to make improvements in drainage and waterlines and our foliage is looking so much better since the August/September rains. There are several ongoing projects – come on out and see what’s new.
Upcoming Events: we have had more corporate and fund-raising events at the club this year than ever before, and there are still more scheduled for the remainder of the year. We still have Coastal Bend Shooters, Texas Carbine and Steel Challenge matches every month, and there are License to Carry and Hunters Education classes available. Check the club’s website or contact the club for specific dates and times. And don’t forget that during daylight savings time we have extended hours on Thursdays and invite you to come shoot skeet, trap and 5-Stand under the lights. We are currently open until 10:00 p.m. every Thursday, and after the time change on November 6 we’ll still be open after dark until 9:00 p.m. It’s a different experience and a great place to meet friends and unwind after work or a long day.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at denisenewton@live.com or a member of management at 361-852-1212 or ccgc@gtek.biz.
See you at the club!

We are now operating under our “new normal”. Social distancing requirements are still in effect for all members and guest here at CCGC. All members, family members and all guest must sign a waiver prior to entering the property. There are blank waivers in a box just short of the front gate and a box at the front gate to place the completed and signed waivers. Gate cards for anyone that has not signed a new waiver have been turned off as of May 30. It could take anywhere from 15 minutes to a full business day to have them turned back on once we receive the new waiver. Members must use their own gate card to enter, do not attempt to follow others through gates and please do not allow someone to follow you through a gate.
5 stand, sporting clays, skeet and trap fields are limited to 5 shooters at a time on the field and must maintain a 6 foot distance between shooters. Shooters waiting to shoot behind fields must also maintain a 6 ft distance from all others present. Pistol and rifle matches are limited to 10 shooters in a squad and match directors have a special set of rules they must follow and enforce.
